         Displacement

    Change in position of an object such as the player or ball is displacement.  Displacement happens when players move to set, bump, dig, or spike the ball.  Displacement can be positive or negative.

Change in Displacement= Displacement (final)-Displacement (initial)

DD= Df -Di

Example.

    A player is standing  5 meters from the net, he moves up 2 meters to hit the ball. What is his displacement?

DD= Df -Di

The initial displacement is 5 meters.

The final displacement is 2 meters.

DD= 2 - 5.

answer: DD= -3 meters.
